Hockey, Hockey, Think about Hockey

Well, I’m glad somebody, who may or may not still be mad at me,  we know has the fiscal togetherness to go to last night’s UMass Hockey Reverse Raffle (whatever the fuck that means) At the said event, aside from letting truth fearing fans man the noise meter, a schedule was released for next year’s hockey campaign. Via Fear The Triangle, here it is in all its glory (home games bold because I’m helping)

Well, good stuff here. Per usual, lets break down some quick reactions in the Matt Civello patented bullet point form

  • No Halloween series with Providence? Unheard of!
  • Is “we need points during the last weekend with Merrimack” the new “we need points that final weekend with Maine. I sure hope not.
  • Just checked hotwire and there are hotels from $39 in Estero FL during those dates. Fuck if I know how I’ll get there but I am excited for the prospect of December swimming.
  • Sad that the BC game will be over winter break. Thats usually one of the major draws for students. Eh, fuck it, Doesn’t affect me anymore
  • Lowell weekend Late January. Adjust your profile picture accordingly
  • The most boring non conference schedule ever. Harvard (eh) Yale (cool?) UCONN (eeeeeeh) Bentley (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh) and Quinnipiac and their awesome NESN time buys (and hilarious Texas 3rd interviewer)
  • exhibition game not listed. I assume thats most likely October 1. Cool?
  • That Northeastern  game should be epic. Love Matthews. That is a must attend game

Is it October yet?

    – So, does BU on the Friday before become the “Halloween game?” (knowing the Southwest biddies, it probably will)
    – At least the students get ONE BC game.
    – We’re so going to all those road places we haven’t been yet (Orono, Quinny, and Providence, and Durham again so I can go this time lol). And also Burlington again if we can finagle it into what I’m sure will be busy schedules. If not, Alchemist road trip? (Maybe we can see a UVM vs. someone-who’s-not-UMass game in that case. I could be persuaded to root for Vermont against Lowell or BC or BU.)
    – I’m beyond ecstatic that they referred to it as “Maine-Orono” on the schedule.
    – I think it’d be cool to have those UVM home games played at the MassMutual. I’m all for “home” games in Springfield, because they’re a boon to the program’s overall Western-Mass presence…WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION (Y’HEAR ME, KELLOGG?) It’d draw a bigger crowd, too, I guarantee it.
